ACET is seeking a Depot Aircraft Avionics Technician III to join our Team in Bridgewater, VA.

This position will report to the ACET Site Lead.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Level Avionics Technician, you will be expected to carry out the primary duties involving install, inspect, test, adjust or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, radio, navigation and missile control systems in aircrafts. Test and troubleshoot instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes and voltmeters. The Avionics Technician will also be responsible for all the associated wiring that connects to the electrical system.

Duties inlcude, but are not limited to:
  • Adjust, assemble, repair, replace or install components such as switches, electrical controls and junction boxes, using hand tools and soldering irons
  • Connect components to assemblies such as radio systems, instruments, magnetos, inverters and in-flight refueling systems, using hand tools and soldering irons
  • Install electrical and electronic components, assemblies, and systems in aircraft, using hand tools, power tools and/or soldering irons
  • Interpret flight test data in order to diagnose malfunctions and systemic performance problems
  • Lay out installation of aircraft assemblies and systems, following documentation such as blueprints, manuals and wiring diagrams
  • Assemble prototypes or models of circuits, instruments and systems so that they can be used for testing
  • Coordinate and perform work with that of engineers, technicians, and other aircraft maintenance personnelTest and troubleshoot instruments, components and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes and voltmeters
  • Keep records of maintenance and repair work
  • Operate computer-aided drafting and design applications to design avionics system modifications, when necessary
Job Requirements:

Skills Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • Electronics Aircraft Tech School or Military equivalent
  • 5-8 years experience in aircraft avionics to include corporate, business, military or Jet experience
  • DHC-8 or Bombardier Dash 8 type of aircraft experience
  • Must be able to read drawings, technical specification and technical manuals
  • Ability to troubleshoot the entire electrical system which will include, but is not limited to: running cables, conducting ring out and continuity checks, mounting antennas, connecting instruments for navigation and engine monitoring as well as the use of other specialized tools required for avionics installation and repairs
  • Must work well within company, sub-contractors and Government teams
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with other technicians and personnel
  • Ability to interpret direction given by the maintenance supervisor or other high level technicians into appropriate action and closure plans
  • Must have a basic set of hand tools
  • Ability to pass a Secret Security Background Check
  • All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen to apply
Nice to Have Skills:
Military aviation experience as a crew-member, non-crewmember, or maintenance person
such as:
  • Organizational Maintenance Technician
  • Have previously held certification on DHC-8 or Bombardier Dash 8 type of aircrafts
  • Prior Experience in Modifications of Fixed Wing Aircrafts
  • Prior air defense weapon systems manufacturing, modification, integration, modernization or retro-fit experience
Certifications Required:
  • A&P Certified
  • FAA Airframe Certification
  • FAA Powerplant Certification
  • FCC License
