- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in the aviation avionics field.
- At least six (6) years UH-1Y / AH-1Z or equivalent rotary wing aircraft experience. Prior Quality Assurance preferred.
- Skilled/qualified in Naval Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification.
- Minimum 5 years DEPOT level modification/Maintenance experience
- Must possess a high degree of expertise of aircraft electrical/avionics systems.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
- Familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems.
- Be able to perform DEPOT Level aircraft modifications and maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical/avionics systems.
- Ability to utilize blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
- Must be able to perform troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications.
- Demonstrate ability to install, inspect, test, adjust, or repair avionics equipment, such as radar, navigation, and missile control systems in aircraft.
- Ability to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and to provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to other employees as needed.
- Able to complete maintenance documentation accurately using required forms, as required by job assignment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and a Common Access Card (CAC).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
- Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required.
