Tasks and Accountabilities

Outline Job Profile

To provide Industrial Engineering support for the Airbus HAPS Connectivity Solutions Ltd team including but not limited to:

  • Work with key stakeholders in Production & Design to specify an optimised production flow through the final assembly line which meets the desired takt time.
  • Implement Lean principles to ensure the product flows smoothly through the assembly line and non-value activities are minimized.
  • Implement techniques and processes to ensure right first time quality production and assembly.
  • Support Design for Manufacture activities by challenging the current design and assembly philosophy.
  • Implement Line Balancing to eliminate waste in assembly for each rate step in production ramp up.
  • Be a leader of opportunities for continuous improvement and problem solving.
  • Manage priorities in line with objectives.
  • Be responsible to synthesize simple to complex situations in order to present to different management levels.
  • Interpret, verify and recognize drawings and other documents from engineering department
  • Establish assembly and manufacturing strategies for aircraft components
  • Define the tools needed to manufacture or assemble aircraft components to ensure the required geometric tolerancing.
  • Harmonize the implementation of engineering or assembly strategy changes by working in close collaboration with the engineering, materials logistics, quality and production.
  • Support Transfer of Work activities from in house to external supply.

Reporting

  • Reporting to the Production Manager in the Airbus HAPS Connectivity Solutions Ltd team, a 100 affiliate of Airbus Defence and Space Ltd.

Accountabilities

  • To ensure a lean production and assembly line for the Zephyr aircraft and associated systems.

Required skills and experience

  • You hold a Bachelor&39;s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering with a minimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in and extensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • You have strong experience in continuous improvement and problem solving
  • You have the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • You have an analytical mind and an ability to efficiently solve problems
  • You hold leadership, autonomy and ability to work in a team
  • You have a logical and flexible mind, with a sense of initiative and attention to detail
  • You have a good work structure in order to be efficient in your work organization
  • You have strong capability to synthesize and document information
  • Good communication skills, stakeholder management, ability to convince and influence
  • Diplomacy and reliability
  • Negotiation level of English
