Job Description SummaryThe position is related with responsibility for executing all activities associated with repair development of LM6000 cold/hot components: preparation, drafting & substantiation of repair procedures, answering customer inquiries, communication with repair shops.
The Staff engineer will be responsible for mentoring and consulting inexperienced engineers on all the above aspects and ensuring correctness of technical documentation.
On this position you will have opportunity to gain broad experience working on different engine modules: Low & high pressure compressor, Low & high pressure turbine and components: rotors, structures & airfoils. Being in the LM6000 hot section, you will support both cold & hot part of the LM6000 engine.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • The Staff Engineer provides consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact.
  • Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
  • Support GE AEO businesses internal and external customers
  • Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology and processes to current and future business opportunities.
  • Provide engineering support, within one’s specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives.
  • Leverage expertise to resolve problems in the field or during the repair processes.
  • Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools.
  • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company
  • Function as program manager when appropriate.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Requirements:

  • MSc/BSc in Engineering
  • Significant experience in repair development area
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong technical attitude related to components and systems of increasing complexity
  • Ability to influence others
  • Ability to lead project with significant complexity
