Job Description:

Start Date: September 2025

Every year we look for university graduates from around the world to join Airbus and help fill the critical roles for our future. We need people with the aspiration, enthusiasm and the talent to help us move forward and to change the world and deliver our vision to pioneer sustainable aerospace for a safe and united world.

When you begin your career with us, we accelerate your growth through our Airbus Global Graduate development journey, focusing on both soft skills, business knowledge and technical ability. You will be part of a two year programme that enables you to develop your professional skills; build your networks and gain a unique perspective on the world of Airbus whilst delivering in a specific position - each development journey is individual

In addition to on-the-job activity and a comprehensive schedule of training opportunities, once a year you will also join your global graduate community for a development week where you meet your peers, hear from our leaders and learn from the best.

By the end of the programme, you will have gained everything you need to become an established team member in your position, having already demonstrated your value. You will have developed your skills in an area that is strategically important for Airbus, you will know about the Airbus business, the opportunities, challenges and needs, and you will have learned more about yourself, and what makes you great!

Above all you will have the opportunity to do your best work in an industry that is literally reshaping how we live in our world.

If you are ready to join and be part of this journey please apply below (& don’t forget to include a motivation letter)!

What can you expect...

You will be on a development pathway to guide your growth into the role of Payload Architect, assigned to a telecom payload project with a strong focus on RF and payload system performance analysis and can expect to be involved in the following:

  • Analysis of payload system architecture and end to end telecom systems, performing performance trade-offs at equipment level and at payload level, complete with preparation of analysis, review and compilation of written reports and presentations for our customers

  • Support the payload test campaigns and the analysis of test results, working hand-in-hand with the Assembly, Integration and Test operations team (working in clean room environment)

  • Extensive use of modelling tools such as Matlab and Python for in-house developed analysis modelling, Keysight ADS, and Microsoft Office and Gsuite for presentation of technical information to the customer and customer reviews

  • Learn about cutting edge satellite and payload technology, telecommunication satellite missions, and key performance parameters and analysis, including link budget parameters such as G/T and EIRP to support the business in delivering on-going and future telecommunication satellite projects, bids, proposals, and studies.

Along the journey you will also learn to apply degree level RF and telecommunications aspects including (but not limited to) signal modulation, signal impairments in a communication system, systems engineering theory, and develop further technical understanding of communication aspects such as digital and analogue beam-forming, transparent and regenerative processing techniques.

Your development pathway will include a minimum of one rotational placement to support your growth into position. A current example being a placement within our internal equipment manufacturer in the design offices, laboratory, and a cleanroom environment, experiencing direct practical hands-on design and development, and application of theory to design, manufacturing, and test validation processes

At the end of the two year development programme you will have developed into the position of Payload Architect!
