The Opportunity -
In partnership with the ADF and the Commonwealth, Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) provides aircraft maintenance and upgrades, component maintenance solutions, technical support, mission-critical infrastructure support and training on some of the most capable surveillance, command, control, and combat platforms in the world.
BDA is looking for a Senior Avionics Engineer who will join the AH-64E Apache team.
In this role you will support the most modern and capable configuration of the AH-64 Apache attack helicopter.
You will be based in Enoggera, Brisbane with the Army customer in an integrated Attack Helicopter System Program Office (AHSPO).
As a Senior Avionics Engineer within BDA, you will
- Apply engineering principles in supervisory and technical lead capacity to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer; designs interim and final engineering solutions on complex electronic and electrical systems.
- Lead and conduct the following in support of the Apache program:
- Analyses reported problems with avionics systems for potential safety issues; recommends and manages resolution,
- Lead and Develop and reviews customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment,
- Test and validate the solution to problems to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements, and
- Provides other support of fielded electrical hardware and software systems over the entire product lifecycle.
- Required AASB Engineering Authority: Design Engineer
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated relevant Aerospace Engineering degree, 7 years+ relevant experience in similar role
- Previous experience
- Prior Defence service/Defence aerospace experience
- Completion of DASR 21, Part M, Type cert courses
- Meet Defence security and ITAR requirements.
Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
NOTE: This role is due to commence in February 2025.
