Job Description SummaryGE Aerospace is offering the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and applications, specializing in aircraft engine design and analysis, in a technology base.Turkey Technology Center (TTC) in Kartal/ İstanbul is one of GE Aerospaces nine engineering centers throughout the world, supporting aviation-related R&D and innovation projects that expand with new investments.

This position is for an individual contributor who will be responsible for the new-make manufacture of structures and combustors structural parts across GE Aviations commercial engine lines and AEO. The role will involve solving manufacturing and producibility challenges while driving excellence through engineering and demonstrating leadership characteristics.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines, manufacturing, and quality, and regularly communicate with commodity and industry experts while promoting open and honest dialogue.
  • At least twice a year, travel to manufacturing sites to gain practical knowledge of hardware manufacture.
  • Execute the engineering analysis and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles to improve manufacturability and technical robustness of assigned components.
  • Use engineering judgement and experience to challenge entrenched processes and recommend improvements.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of engineering & manufacturing, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute on complex projects to meet technical requirements and business goals.
  • Lead technical projects of moderate scope and complexity through collaboration with field and industry experts.
  • Provide support for vendor qualification, producibility improvements, and hardware delivery.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related engineering field.

Desirable Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in design of aerospace components.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, especially of aerospace components.
  • Flexible and friendly approach to working in teams.
  • Experience with ANSYS and NX.
  • Certification in ASME Y14.5 or practical experience with GD&T.
  • Structures MRB certification.
  • Passion for problem solving and driving solutions while constantly learning and mentoring others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of turbomachinery system design
