Summary:
Independently lead and support the optimization of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities include process planning, problem-solving, and driving improvements in quality, efficiency, and production flow.
Develop and maintain detailed work instructions and manage daily work plans for assigned manufacturing areas.
Drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and material flow. Provide metrics for quality and schedule performance.
Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) analysis for quality defects.
Perform complex technical studies and recommend optimal manufacturing methods, sequences, and tooling.
Support make-or-buy decisions, evaluate vendors, and assist in resolving vendor-related issues.
Conduct research and analysis to ensure processes meet requirements and support justification for equipment/facility enhancements.
Participate in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews and perform producibility studies based on engineering drawings.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to process improvements and lead implementation across departments.
Train junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production issues.
Maintain accurate status updates and support business continuity planning.
Support quality initiatives and recommend process enhancements.
Serve as Operations Manager substitute as needed.
Champion safety, sustainability, and ergonomic practices.
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 18 months of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, planning, or a related technical field.
Proficient in engineering configuration, tooling, quality control, blueprint reading, plant safety, and shop math.
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
