AIBT (Airbus Beluga Transport)  is Airbus’ new airline that operates the A300 Beluga ST fleet for commercial oversize transport  flights.

The 5 A300 Beluga ST aircraft  historically operated by Airbus Transport International (ATI) have been replaced and are now being operated for external transport activities (commercial transport of Engines, Helicopters, Satellite components or complete satellites, ISS Components, Containers, Machinery).  Commercial operations already started in December 2021.

Airbus has created  the new AIBT Airline to manage and commercialize these operations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As AIBT Power Plant and Systems Engineer, you will support the Airworthiness Manager and work in close cooperation with the rest of the Tech. Ops team, ATI teams and contracted organizations. In this regard, you will be responsible to define and implement some of the appropriate processes, ways of working and contracts to support operation in a safe and cost effective manner with: ATI CAMO (management of Maintenance Program, Reliability Control Program, ADs/SBs/Mods, Maintenance Planning, Airworthiness Review, retrofits and obsolescences) / ATI DOA & Airbus teams for B-ST upgrades and modifications linked to obsolescence management and necessary upgrades (worldwide activities, new payloads) / ATI material support / Contracted Part 145  Maintenance Organisation (Sabena Technics).

 

You will be responsible for managing the fleet of twelve GE CF6-80 engines that powers AiBT’s A300-600ST fleet, including in service monitoring, engine shop visit management and spares management, and to perform the associated contract monitoring and the oversight and coordination of the CAMO activities. In coordination with AIBT TO Maintenance Manager, Material and Logistics Manager and subcontracted CAMO (ATI), you will be responsible to schedule, coordinate and supervise maintenance activities to maintain aircraft airworthiness and ensure aircraft timely readiness and availability for commercial operations.

You will contribute to coordinate and supervise the preparation and execution of the technical operations for commercial flights that will be operated by the AIBT Beluga A300-600ST fleet, in particular in case of unexpected technical events or last minute re-planning. This role will therefore involve, as required, occasional 24/7 stand-by activities.

You will act as on-site airline representative during aircraft or engine inspections and repairs in the contracted Part 145 organizations.

REQUIRED SKILLS

As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and competencies

Educational Qualifications: Engineer diploma or equivalent.

Technical knowledge:

Good aviation technical background and knowledge ;
Minimum aircraft or engine maintenance experience: 3 years ;
Solid knowledge and experience in the management of in-service aircraft engines, Engine Condition Monitoring, shop visit planning, shop visit management, engine maintenance costs, engine lifecycle optimisation. Knowledge and direct experience on GE CF6  engines is a plus ;
Knowledge of aircraft systems and in particular  A300 systems and maintenance practices and related experience is a plus ;
Sound knowledge of EASA Part CAMO and Part M regulations and familiar with Part 145 requirements.

Soft skills:

Ability to identify and collect needs, requirements and inputs and define the required procedures and control processes considering required output and the involved resources ;

Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
