Job Description:
Airbus UpNext is looking for a 5G System Engineer to explore 5G Non-Terrestrial-Network capabilities based on space platforms.
Our objective is to explore many new technologies and to support the strategic ambitions of Airbus. As such, be prepared for a wild ride, digging into unconventional ways of working, and be ready for many pivots throughout, as we will explore the unknown.
This position is based in Toulouse, and we will collaborate with teams across Europe and an international partnership landscape.
This job comes with a 3 year CDI-C contract.

By being the 5G System Engineer, you will:
Be the focal technical point of contact for a major 5G software partner
Link with 5G experts on standardization
Link with partners for the 5G E2E demonstration

What you bring:
Experience in 5G standard and technology (System Architecture and Radio Access Network), satellite telecommunication systems and Satellite Radio Access Network architecture.
In-depth understanding of 3GPP specifications (Rel 15, 16, 17, and beyond) related to 5G NR Layer 2.
Expertise in Layer 2 sublayers, architecture and optimization,, needed to support daily discussions with a 5G partner - MAC (Medium Access Control), Scheduling, HARQ, logical channels, random access procedures. RLC / PDCP…
Knowledge of high-performance networking stacks (DPDK)
Experience in SW development
Passion about technology, science.
Experience in complex engineering projects.
