Summary
 
The Aircraft Structural Engineer performs engineering work including design, analysis, substantiation, certification, drawing interpretation and project management related to maintenance, modification and repair of transport category aircraft. Provides or coordinates engineering drawings related to aircraft systems and components in support of VVIP / VIP aircraft completions.
 
Functions

·Design and analyze aircraft structural elements and furnishings, typically in support aircraft interior modifications and avionics upgrades (STC projects).
·Prepare engineering reports, Engineering Authorization (EAs), drawings, analysis, and test plans.
·Develop modification/installation and repair work instruction, procedures and recommendations.
·Coordinate and monitor structural aspects of project schedule with project managers.
·Monitor and support structural kit development and parts suppliers (internal and external).
·Support structural aspects of proposal development.
·Coordinate with foreign and domestic approval authorities and their representatives for any necessary assistance and/or approvals.
·Work within engineering team to delegate and assign work to appropriate team members.
·Applies area of specialty to design, develop and implement creative and innovative solutions to difficult problems.
·Strive for continuous process improvements and increasing efficiencies in execution and delivery with safety as a priority.
·Maintain close and frequent communication with the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer, notifying him/her of progress and any road-blocks or threats to the project’s critical path that could impact re-delivery.
-Deal with Customers in a cordial, respectful and professional manner, and to see to it that all personnel behave accordingly.
-To lead by example at all times; through professional behavior, integrity, commitment to the company and compliance with its policies.
-Ensure the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the re-delivery of airworthy, reliable and clean aircraft, in a timely manner.  
Job Requirements:
Qualifications

REQUIRED
·Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
·5+ years of experience in Aircraft Structural Engineering, including experience in the design, certification and modification or repair of aircraft structures.
-Experience with certification processes and requirements including Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), Organizational Design Authority (ODA), and other regulatory
certification and airworthiness requirements.

DESIRED
-Engineering process experience with VIP and VVIP completions for wide body aircraft.

-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
-Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
