Position SummaryThe role is responsible for leading the development and delivery of technical proposals to our customers across our entire product range including system solutions, electric propulsion and expanded electrification of customer solutions. We are placing key emphasis on providing our customers with engineering solutions that are focused on their requirements and exceed their expectations. This role is central to the success and growth of our business. The job requires independent actions within a matrix team with limited resource for support. It requires that the individual to develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of our products, systems and services. He or she must use this knowledge to perform or oversee applications engineering to create solutions and develop customer proposals including costs for the designs developed. He or she will work within a multi-discipline team, with a high level of customer contact. This individual must effectively interface with the business development team. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the delivery of on-time quality technical proposals that capture our customer imagination and exceed their expectations. Early coordination with our business development and supply chain functions is essential to the successful management of proposals.

  • Use technical knowledge of product offerings to support and build sales.

  • Perform and build application engineering capabilities to develop preliminary solutions with products, systems or service offerings to meet stated customer requirements.

  • Manage the business evaluation process to ensure efficient approval of all proposals. In-depth knowledge of business solutions, products offerings, risk management, requirement management and business planning is requried.

  • Develop sales resources such as pre-approved pricing models to improve the responsiveness of our business to customer inquiries.

  • Provide insight into market trends in support of product strategies.

Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, electrical or other engineering discipline (Naval Architecture or Marine) with 3-6 years of experience in industry.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

  • Ability to conduct application engineering on power electronics and propulsion equipment without supervision.

  • Strong Commercial and Business acumen coupled with practical negotiating skills and conflict resolution is essential.

  • Strong financial acumen and knowledge of Government contracting.

  • Demonstrable experience in interfacing with customers, suppliers and partners and managing customer interaction and requirements.

  • Basic program management capability especially in planning and risk management techniques.

  • Experience in management complex system requirements and product requirement include experience utilizing requirement management software tools.

  • Good understanding of electrical propulsion and power generation products.

  • Ability to lead a multi-discipline team within a matrix organizational structure.

  • Proficient in use of Microsoft products especially Excel, Word and Project.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Some domestic/International travel required.

  • US Citizenship required.

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance required.
