Pratt & Whitney, an RTX Company, is looking for an Application Testing Engineer   to join our Digital Technology (DT) Digital I4.0 Team. and support the development and deployment of our Industry 4.0 (I4.0) applications. As our projects increasingly integrate advanced digital technologies on connected factory solutions, the role of thorough and meticulous testing becomes even more critical to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and performance of our applications.

Education / Certifications: 

  • BS degree and 6 to 9 years experience required; or Advanced degree.  Preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Engineering, or related. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement test plans, test cases, and test scripts for full stack-based application, MES & connected factory application and SQL-based applications.
  • Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality.
  • Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand the requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Perform regression testing, integration testing, and performance testing as needed.
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback to the development team for continuous improvement.
  • Document defects and track issues to resolution using bug tracking tools.
  • Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing.
  • Gather and analyze user stories to derive clear and concise test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
  • Engage with stakeholders to refine and clarify user stories, ensuring alignment with the testing strategy and overall project goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in software testing with a focus on connected factory/I4.0 application.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, including manual and automated testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation and verification.
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as NUnit, MSTest, Jasmine, or Protractor.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for code management.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, preferably with tools like Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to aid in frontend testing.
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of security testing principles and experience with security testing tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work in an agile environment and adapt to changing priorities.
