Job Objective


The Aviation Mechanical Drafter/Designer is responsible for creating documentation to support production. Documentation includes CAD Models, assembly detail drawings, component detail drawings, work instructions, and production tooling. 


Essential Functions

  • Design and draft mechanical components for aircraft systems
  • Create detailed drawings and schematics using CAD software
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to ensure designs meet specifications
  • Conduct research to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements
  • Review and revise designs based on feedback from team members and clients
  • Ensure designs comply with industry regulations and safety standards
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Proven capability of self-checking for accuracy of work
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly self-motivated to work diligently to achieve personal and company goals in a team environment 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation mechanical drafting and design
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged sitting and computer work 

Work Environment

  • Temperature-controlled office
  • Occasional outdoor-type environment with potential extreme cold and hot temperatures as well as moderately loud machine noise

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • No travel required
