The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking an Avionics Lead to oversee Bomber Avionics Systems Integration within the Aircraft Modernization and Modification division. This position is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The successful candidate will plan, organize, and coordinate resources necessary to successfully execute program milestones for subsystems (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) to reach aircraft modification and test. This position will involve solving problems of hardware/software throughout product lifecycle. Emphasis is on software/hardware modification and integration onto the platform through requirements development, design reviews, laboratory integration, data analysis, ground and flight testing.
This Level 5 position is located in Oklahoma City.
Duties will include but not limited to:
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system
Management of baseline; cost, schedule and technical to meet key program milestones
Approval of technical approaches.
Direct customer and supplier interaction.
Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R.120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Minimum 10+ years in Systems Engineering or Avionics Design
- Experience working with Military or Aerospace customers.
- Experience managing project cost, schedule, technical and operational objectives.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Best qualified candidates will typically possess 10 or more years of applicable experience in avionics integration with Air Force Military platforms.
- Excellent communications skills (internal to the organization and external to the customer).
- Experience in subsystem integration from requirements development to operational capability.
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
