CAMO Engineer - Bristow Netherlands (FT)

Are you ready to take the next step in your aviation career? Whether you’re a recent graduate or an experienced professional, we are looking for someone to join our Bristow Netherlands CAMO team as a CAMO Engineer.

The CAMO Engineer’s overall purpose is to manage the continuing airworthiness of Bristow Netherlands’s fleet as directed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager. The CAMO engineer acts as Maintenance Planner and Administrator as required.

Bristow Netherlands operates a fleet of three Leonardo AW189 helicopters from bases in Den Helder and Midden Zeeland. The helicopters are primarily used for Search and Rescue operations for the Netherlands Coastguard. The continuing airworthiness of the fleet is managed by Bristow Netherlands CAMO located in Den Helder. This role reports directly to the Continuing Airworthiness Manager.

Role description/responsibilities

The CAMO Engineer’s overall purpose is to manage the continuing airworthiness of Bristow Netherlands’s fleet as directed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager including:

  • Management of aircraft status for Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, AC Software, Weight and Balance, Modifications, Repairs and electrical load analysis;
  • Management of aircraft configuration;
  • Day to day management of (contracted) maintenance activity in liaison with internal and external Part-145 organizations;
  • Maintain, review, and develop the Aircraft Maintenance Program in liaison with the subcontracted CAMO organisation;
  • Preparing the Aircraft Maintenance Program annual review report;
  • Review and assess the applicability of technical publications and provide recommendations to the CAMO and maintenance organisations;
  • Evaluation and preparation of maintenance, modification and repair instructions;
  • Provide technical support towards internal and external Part-145 organizations;
  • Liaise with subcontracted CAMO and (S) Type Certificate holders on technical issues;
  • Reviewing Occurrence Reports and Audit Findings relative to the area of responsibility and assisting in root cause analysis investigations, as well as implementing corrective and preventative actions.
  • Assisting the Continuing Airworthiness Manager as required;
  • Act as Maintenance Planner and Administrator as required;
  • Promoting safety in all areas and ensuring all of the above are managed in line with the Company’s core values, ensuring CAMO inputs to the management system and management of risks associated with continuing airworthiness.

Skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (HBO) in Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent being an engineering degree from mechanical, electrical, electronic, avionic, or other studies relevant to the maintenance and continuing airworthiness of aircraft/aircraft components or a Part-66 license (category B or C license);
  • Knowledge of relevant EASA regulations (Part-145 / Part-CAMO);
  • Must be self-motivated/self-starter;  
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, summarize, and present information clearly to audiences with different backgrounds and at different levels of the organization and external stakeholders; 
  • Weighing alternatives, considering both short- and long-term effects and then being resolute in the decisions they make; 
  • Understand the need for and acts with integrity in their liaisons with all stakeholders; 
  • Highly collaborative, works with all stakeholders to deliver results and keep others informed; 
  • Approachable to both internal and external staff members; 
  • Ability to manage priorities and focus on the key issues; 
  • Visionary with drive and desire to achieve a higher performing organization;
  • Must be proficient in all of the following – Microsoft Office, ERP/MRO systems (preferably Ramco), Type Certificate holder publications (preferably Leonardo);
  • Affinity with computer applications;
  • Good verbal and written skills in English (and preferably also Dutch).

Experience

  • Relevant work experience is not required but is considered an advantage.  
  • Knowledge of helicopters, preferably Leonardo AW189 gained through a formalised training course;
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of maintenance programmes for aircraft.
