Job Description SummaryThe Tubes and Ducts Chief Manufacturing Engineer partners across business functions and production sites to shape and execute the GE Aerospace NPI launch strategy for the engine external hardware. In this role, you will develop the technical strategy to both continuously improve SQDC and help the part family achieve strategic objectives. You will do this by driving technology roadmap industrialization, establishing the manufacturing strategy to assess producibility and process capability within the shops, coordinating the transition of parts from Development to Production shops, and by developing the T&D Part Family Strategic Workforce Plan (SWP). This leader will be responsible for coaching and mentoring the manufacturing engineering talent across multiple sites.

Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities

  • Partner across the Tubes & Ducts part family to execute strategic and tactical efforts to improve part producibility, process capability, manufacturing readiness and cost
  • Partner across the Tubes & Ducts part family to develop technology roadmaps and champion the industrialization of the technologies to ensure manufacturing readiness
  • Chair producibility, process capability and MRL reviews and drive action item governance
  • Apply manufacturing technology principles in collaboration with design, sourcing, and quality to drive internal/external manufacturing sources to deliver products that consistently meet quality, cost, and schedule
  • Coordinate part transitions from Development to Production shops through standard work development and deployment
  • Grow/sustain manufacturing engineering talent, including special processes for the T&D Part Family
  • Partner across the T&D part family to generate and execute the strategic workforce planning
  • Utilize/coach structured problem solving and enterprise risk management methods
  • Ensure conformance to product definition and maintain compliance with quality systems and regulatory frameworks while aligning with industry standards
  • Interpret/establish specifications, standard practices, inspection plans and documentation to control the manufacturing process

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least 5 years of manufacturing experience
