Role Introduction
Reports To: Communications and Engagement Business Partnering Manager
As an instinctive storyteller, you will be responsible for creating and implementing internal communications and engagement strategies for key business units within Cathay to support their vision and strategic direction. This role requires you to think outside the box to create campaigns and engagement initiatives that bring the Cathay brand to life and support its broader strategy and vision – with the goal of improving employee engagement. You will have the chance to work closely with senior leaders and advise them on strategic communications to deliver important and compelling messages both within departments and for the broader Cathay employee base.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Communications
- Devise and implement an internal communications and engagement strategy for key business units, based on their unique needs and challenges
- Continuously measure and enhance departmental communications and engagement strategies for its effectiveness
- Develop day-to-day content (including written and video content) for both online and offline channels that reach and target various employee groups within the department and those across the broader Cathay employee base
- Work with senior leaders across the business unit to deliver important messages and raise the profile of the leadership team to the wider Cathay employee base.
- Create designs for internal campaigns that are visually engaging and align with the company’s branding and communication objectives
- Translate technical messages into easy-to-understand language to ensure effective communications
Engagement
- Plan and implement engagement programmes related to the business unit including team building events and activities, induction programmes, focus groups and recognition programmes, etc.
Requirements
- Degree in communications, spaneting or related discipline
- 8+ years’ relevant experience in a communications and/or employee engagement role
- Solid experience in managing internal communications and events
- Ability to manage the end-to-end delivery of communications and engagement campaign independently
- Strong experience in filming and video editing
- Advanced English communication and writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment; able to build rapport with people at all levels of seniority
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- A confident and persuasive communicator who can adapt their style for different channels and audiences
- Action-orientated and self-motivated
