You will join our “EEE Engineering & Radiation” team at TESAT as a Component Engineer.

Our team is responsible for the selection, procurement, testing and qualification of EEE components for application in space missions. In your role as a Component Engineer, you will provide expert technical support to TESAT and Airbus space projects on active components especially on integrated circuits.

Your responsibilities:

  • Providing expert technical support to the development departments and space projects on the design, procurement and implementation of active components
  • Defining and assessing the selection, characterization, evaluation and qualification of active components for space applications
  • Performing technical investigations in the frame of construction and failure analyses on components for application in space equipment
  • Defining requirements and specifications for components in close collaboration and coordination with clients, manufacturers and agencies
  • Assessing compliance of component quality and reliability with the applicable project requirements, specifications and standards
  • Participating in non-conformance investigations and supporting projects in the definition of corrective actions and risk mitigation strategies
  • Contributing to working groups on space standardisation and the definition of roadmaps for current and future active components
  • Determining project technology needs and proposing R&D activities to space development programs, and evaluating new technologies and manufacturers

This role will involve some travel for business within Europe, and as such, you should be able to travel accordingly.

Your qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD, ideally in electrical engineering physics, or a related technical field
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the design, development, testing and characterisation of EEE components, in particular on active parts especially on integrated circuits.
  • Knowledge about space specification systems and standards (ESCC, MIL or automotive) for EEE components would be advantageous
  • Advanced level of German and English
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Good analytical, problem solving and reporting skills
