Job Description SummaryThe Lead Engineer will support the sourcing and manufacturing of components and assemblies associated with Edison Works Advanced Programs.

Job DescriptionEssential Responsibilities

  • Leads efforts with Design Engineering to implement “Design for Manufacturability” for new parts and assemblies.
  • Provide detailed should-costs for components, assemblies, and tooling.
  • Represents Edison Works Supply Chain in Program Tollgate Reviews to ensure manufacturing considerations are addressed.
  • Work with Sourcing on vendor selection.
  • Proactively engage OV and internal shops to ensure program metrics of cost, quality and deliver are met.
  • Mentors junior Engineers and Technicians
  • Initiates activities to reduce cost, reduce cycle time and improve quality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc)  +  Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
