We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our new product design team. Candidates with Research & Development (R&D) or New Product Introduction (NPI) experience are preferred. This person will be working within a team of talented design engineers within Honeywells Electrification Sensing business, which builds solutions for the alternative and clean energy markets. The selected individual will develop sensors using advanced technology and signal conditioning circuits for Electric Vehicles and Energy Storage applications within the Automotive, Transportation, Aerospace, and Industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs sensor electrical design functions on cross functional team.
  • Defining customer requirements, developing concepts, concept selection, detailed product design, design validation, and product release.
  • Optimize designs for performance, cost, and timing.
  • Create detailed designs and documentation for sensors.
  • Create software & firmware for product, production, and/or laboratory use during product development.
  • Analyze complex data and create summary charts, graphs, and reports.
  • Sensor compensation algorithm development.
  • Create analog, digital, or mixed signal computer models to simulate various concepts.
  • Follow a structured New Product Introduction process.
  • Work effectively with a global, cross functional team.
  • Employ design for six sigma tools and methodology throughout the design process.
  • Interface with customers, sales, marketing, production, and peers in the technical community.
  • Produce documentation for customers, production staff and vendors.
  • <10 domestic and international travel to customers, suppliers, and manufacturing locations on an as-needed basis.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTSDue to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

MUST HAVE:

  • Must have a BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Electrical engineering experience developing circuits, use of laboratory instrumentation, component testing, product testing, and embedded firmware and software.
  • US. citizen or permanent resident status is required.

 WE VALUE:

  • Transportation vehicle electronics experience in automotive, construction or agriculture.
  • Experience with sensor design.
  • Sensor signal conditioning design experience using: A to D converters, microcontrollers, application specific integrated circuits, transient protection, supply regulation, and discrete components.
  • Design for electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Simulink, C++ and C in development lab and production product designs.
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Circuit modeling using PSPICE or similar program.
