Responsibilities:
Design & Development:
Lead the design, development, and validation of electrical accessory components, including wiring harnesses, sensors, control modules, and electronic interfaces.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, manufacturing) to ensure seamless integration of electrical accessories.
Release Management:
Own the release process for electrical components, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
Manage engineering changes (ECNs/ECRs) and update specifications as needed. Testing & Validation: o Coordinate validation tests to meet performance, durability, and compliance standards.
Analyze test data, resolve design issues, and implement corrective actions.
Supplier Collaboration:
Interface with suppliers to define technical requirements, review designs, and manage deliverables.
Oversee supplier activities to ensure compliance with quality and schedule expectations.
Quality Assurance:
Address quality concerns during pre-production and production phases, driving the resolution of design-related issues.
Ensure all electrical components comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Project Support:
Support program management activities by providing technical expertise, timelines, and risk assessments.
Ensure accessory development aligns with overall vehicle program objectives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related role in the automotive industry.
- Experience with automotive accessory systems (e.g., lighting, infotainment, sensors) preferred.
- Proficiency in automotive design tools (e.g., CATIA, Teamcenter).
- Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and other automotive communication protocols.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R, and APQP processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
