Position Summary

 

Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has a great opportunity for an Electrical Instrumentation Engineering Technologist. The successful incumbent will be providing specialist engineering and technical support for engine test facilities.

 

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Support the operation and/or maintenance of RCAF engine test facilities
  • Provide detailed technical assistance on electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors, in-house support staff
  • Analyze problems & take measures to rectify
  • Provide on-site support
  • Documentation, report preparation & administrative tasks
  • Maintain up to date calibration procedures and carry out on-site facility calibrations

 

Position Requirements

 

  • Engineering technologist diploma or equivalent experience relating to the repair and calibration of electronic instruments, electrical systems, data acquisition, instrumentation and control systems
  • Working knowledge of engine test technology
  • Excellent written, oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of instrumentation systems, functions and limitations as well as calibration requirements and accuracies
  • Knowledge of electronics, mathematics and measurement technology to diagnose, calibrate and repair electrical measurement systems and instruments
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
  • Understanding of engine operation and test parameters, both at a theoretical level and practical level
