Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer) OR a Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK.

Domestic travel up to 50 is anticipated.

Essential Functions:

  • Acting as Responsible Engineer for Avionics Subsystem(s)
  • Design, analyze, configure, test, document, and troubleshoot Avionics subsystems and hardware
  • Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams, and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to implement subsystem performance and environmental requirements.
  • Work to develop design solutions for obsolete hardware.

This position may be filled at either the Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer) or Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer) level, depending upon the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 2 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 0 years of engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, and/or installing avionics subsystems
  • Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer (Hardware Responsible Engineer):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field and 5 years of relevant engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 years of engineering experience; OR a PhD in a STEM field with 0 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, configuring, and/or installing avionics subsystems
  • Active, in-scope DoD Secret clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP). This SAP must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications for both levels:

  • Active Special Program Access
  • BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with Avionics Hardware Design
Salary Range: $71,400 - $107,000
Salary Range 2: $87,800 - $131,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
