Role Summary
Here at Parker Meggitt, were looking for experienced Electronics Engineers with lifecycle experience. Youll be able to develop and implement critical hardware electronic solutions to meet programme requirements across the whole development lifecycle in accordance with customer requirements, legislation, human factors and business needs.
You will be operating in a safety critical position, where you’ll interpret system requirements into clear unambiguous hardware design requirements and develop Hardware Development Plans to identify workflow. In this technically challenging role, youll design analyse, commission and verify analogue and digital circuits in accordance with defined specifications including cost and reliability targets.
Role Responsibilities
- Documenting design activities and ensuring traceability of design to requirements, whilst also ensuring adherence to relevant project, company or regulatory standards and processes
- Work collaboratively with systems, safety, software and mechanical engineers to ensure that hardware level requirements have been met and to overcome trade-offs or problems identified in the design
- Contributing to the development of system architectures and considering alternative concepts and trade studies in order to determine evidence led preferred solutions
- Providing support to production to resolve build or obsolescence issues, and supporting customer requests or investigations.
- Planning, generating, performing and validating results of hardware verification plans and procedures
- Supporting hardware qualification activities
- Specifying, designing, commissioning and verifying equipment test solutions to support hardware verification, qualification activities and production
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Essential:
- Experience of managing the full electronics lifecycle
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or HND with significant relevant work experience
- Proven experience of developing high integrity designs within a critical safety environment
- Ability to present complex engineering concepts in an understandable manner
- Ability to independently managing the control of your own work in order to meet agreed technical, quality, process and schedule requirements is key
- Willingness to engineer safety critical products in an industry that is highly regulated and where engineering vigour is valued
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers
Desirable:
- Ability to communicate well and work collaboratively with engineers across various disciplines
- Experience in documenting designs in preparation for formal qualification / certification
- Awareness of simple embedded software to facilitate Hardware/Software integration.
- Some knowledge of lean design techniques
