Description:Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control is looking for an embedded hardware engineer to support the analysis and design of digital circuits utilizing microcontrollers, FPGAs, DSPs, and other programmable logic devices. Conduct research and assessments of digital and analog electronic hardware; utilize hardware, software, and firmware reverse engineering techniques; and design and testing of prototype embedded systems. Prepare and execute test and analysis plans. Write comprehensive technical reports outlining test and analysis results. This position is causal part-time with work schedule of 8-10 hours a week.
Basic Qualifications:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on embedded systems design or Master’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, with 20 years of professional experience with the design and analysis of embedded systems and programmable logic
- FPGA architecture and design, with applied knowledge of Xilinx, Altera, and other FPGA devices and their associated application environments
- Knowledge and/or experience with Digital Signal Processing devices, microcontrollers, and programmable logic devices
- Experience with the design and analysis of digital and analog circuits, schematic capture, and PWB design
- Experience working in a lab environment with electronic test equipment
- Candidate should have excellent technical writing skills
- Working knowledge of C for embedded systems programming
- Experience with technical leadership
Desired Skills:
- VHDL firmware programming capability and having applied that knowledge on an FPGA device (Xilinx, Altera, etc).
- Extensive knowledge of microcontroller architectures and the design of embedded systems
- Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, RS-232
- Working knowledge of the JTAG interface
- Experience with reverse engineering of firmware and software and associated tools
- Working knowledge of multiple programming languages
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Top Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
