As Embedded Software Engineer you will be part of CA&M - Embedded SW & Digital Applications organization. In this role you will be responsible for designing, developing and testing Embedded Software/Firmware with a close interaction with Control System and Hardware Design teams. Typically requires a deep understanding of the characteristics of the physical device being controlled, the real-time functions it is expected to perform and the ability to design, develop, implement, and test the logic and software required to realize the real-time functionality.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Development assignments will involve the analysis of requirements, the design the software, the automatic generation of the code (or hand coding) and the testing in simulation environments and on the real target
Utilize software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process.
Perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems
Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on design aspects
Participate in product and/or application definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffs
Apply Avio Aero standards and applicable software development methodology and release processes
Work collaboratively and professionally with other Avio Aero associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s degree in Engineering or other STEM disciplines with experience in software design and development
Previous experience in Real Time Operating System (RTOS) and in firmware (in C language) design and development of real-time software
Previous experience in OS Basic Functions management (memory, initialization, scheduling, interrupts and built-in test management) and OS Peripherals management (digital and analog I/O interfaces, communication data buses, NVM)
Knowledge of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, compilers, linkers, debuggers, emulators, simulators and logic analyzers)
Knowledge of C programming, microcontrollers and related development tool chain
Good ability to capture and document software requirements
Good knowledge of the DO-178C
Good organization and problem solving approach
Fluent Italian and English (written and spoken)
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Experience with software engineering tools (e.g. DOORS, Matlab, Simulink, Change & Synergy), programming languages (ANSI C, MISRA C) and processes for requirements & logic design, simulation and validation within simulated environment
Awareness in SW Product Security development aspects
