Job Description

 

The Avionics Engineer provides technical avionics expertise to support all electronic and electrical designs and systems. 

Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic In Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.

Major Responsibilities & Duties

 

Strive to consistently act in a manner in which reflects Cascade Aerospace’s culture and values.

Provide Cascade Aerospace with avionics expertise and support with all electronic and electrical designs and applications, as applied to Transport and Utility class aircrafts.

  • Source technical information, using Cascade Aerospace’s Technical Library, regarding flight operations, aircraft electronic and electrical systems and the applicable Transport Canada and/or FAA avionics regulations.
  • Develop engineering orders (EO) to direct technical repair activities on a customer’s aircraft, by interpreting mechanical, electrical and electronic drawings, producing CAD electrical drawing and following all Cascade engineering policies and procedures.
  • Make appropriate changes to engineering applications, designs, specifications and engineering requirements.
  • Provide original and modified avionic and electrical designs for existing systems in aircraft and/or designs for new installations.
  • Write and interpret electrical specifications related to the aircraft.
  • Ensure all modifications are approvable by Transport Canada and FAA.

Monitor and direct the use of avionic calibration testing equipment and coach and train Cascade Aerospace technicians in its correct use.

  • Interpret what testing equipment is required to complete a desired task.
  • Determine if Cascade Aerospace has the necessary test equipment to adequately perform the task.
  • Determine where to buy or rent appropriate testing equipment.

Be familiar with and ensure that all workplace conduct is in accordance with Cascade Aerospace’s Human Resources safety and security policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as required.

Education

 

Degree/Diploma in Electrical/Avionics Engineering or Technology

Experience

 

3-5 years’ experience in aircraft Electrical/Avionics engineering
