Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. Key Responsibilities:

Technical Operations include the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of our aircraft. This includes aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities teams, supply chain teams, and more.

United’s Maintenance Programming Team currently has an opening for an Engineer!

Provide engineering support for United’s scheduled maintenance programs. Must understand, analyze, and seek solutions to improve the design, efficiency, and execution of the maintenance program and aircrafts performance and components. Should be able to logically approach problem-solving, support the evolution of an aircraft maintenance program, and ensure a safe and legal operation. As a United Engineer, you will also evaluate the benefits of the cost impact of a fleet decision to provide a balance of cost and asset utilization. You will work with internal and external customers on technical issues, work scope recommendations, and failure investigations.

  • Review OEM documentation impacting the scheduled maintenance program, including MRBR, MPD, STC, and ICA, and implement changes as required
  • Develops solutions and implementation plans, project justification, cost/benefit analysis, and overall management of project implementation, which can include acquiring FAA approvals
  • Organize and manage the priorities for assigned responsibilities and accomplish the work process to meet all project deliverables on schedule
  • Coordinate work with other operational groups to ensure airworthiness, safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, and efficiency

NOTE: This position is based at the CSC - Willis Tower, located in Chicago, IL. and considered as a hybrid work-schedule working Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in office. However, that may evolve with the needs of the company.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Entry level to 5 years of engineering experience
  • Engineering abilities applicable to aircraft systems, maintenance programs, and engines
  • Ability to analyze technical documentation and manage complex projects involving regulatory compliance
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
  • Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 of the time
  • Strong skills in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Youll need to complete an interview to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Boeing/Airbus Structures I, Airframe/Powerplant License, or E license
  • Maintenance check engineering experience on Boeing/Airbus aircraft
  • Experience with data and statistic analytics/ modeling
  • Familiarity with Python and/or SQL
  • Experience with Foundry Palantir
  • Advanced Excel knowledge (formulas/functions, data visualization, VBA)
  • Knowledge of MSG3 Methodology and Maintenance Program Concepts

The base pay range for this role is $81,700.00 to $111,320.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
