Job Summary

Support engineering and quality clerical activities. Performing system data entry, filing, shipping documentation and other tasks associated to the maintenance of engineering records.
 

Job Responsibilities

•    Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards.
•    Support the development of technical solutions to problems within GKN Aerospace
•    Provide clerical support of engineering process.  
•    Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate audit findings related to engineering services, if and when they occur.
•    Participate in positive, team relationships with internal co-workers.
•    Continuously improve engineering processes by supporting Lean initiatives.
Product ME support
•    Support the engineering process and related documentation:
•    Providing technical support for the update and release of production planning.
•    Data input to support product development, first article development, configuration changes, build process definition and implementation.

Tooling support
•    Support the review and input of tooling requests:
•    New and modified tooling request
•    Provide information on tool releases and status of tooling input to the ERP system

ERP data entry support
•    Support the development of engineering bill of material 
•    Support the creation of travellers and shop floor routing 
•    Support the release of work orders

Specification retrieval and release support
•    Support the acquisition and the release process for customer specifications
•    Maintain the appropriate specification revisions for engineering users

Quality Engineering support
•    Support the creation and maintenance of shipping documents
•    Supporting the retrieval and issuance of customer labels  
•    Provide traveller stack-ups to support the shipping process
•    Maintain archive records on shipped hardware 
•    Performing filing support where necessary to maintain adequate records. 

Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
•    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
•    3+ Years of experience in data entry and engineering support functions 
•    Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder due to program security clearance requirements and/or SSA requirements.


Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Experience with Manugistics (MTO) ERP system, other ERP system experience acceptable. Basic understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
•    Acceptable to depend on others for instruction, guidance and direction. 
•    Good communication skills and understanding of why they are important
•    Ability to apply basic knowledge and skills to own work
•    Identifies opportunities to improve performance or processes
•    Understands situations by analysing them logically
•    Able to apply basic knowledge and skills to own work 
•    Understands basic organisational skills
•    Recognises own job role and their contribution to the work of the organisation
•    Understands basic culture and climate of organisation

•    Defines and strives to meet own personal standards of excellence
•    Understands the importance of new and innovative ways of working
•    Awareness of quality system models such as ISO9000, AS9100, or D1-9000
•    Fluent in English language, both written and spoken
•    US Citizen per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance for the site
 

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is between$21.00 - $30.00 per hour.
