Minimum Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other applicable technical field, and two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and expertise for this level usually results from internal progressive experience. However, selection for this position is based on the demonstrated ability of the person to successfully fulfill the requirements listed.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Ability to use Microsoft Windows operating system and standard office equipment including computers, phones, and photocopiers.
- High level programming skills: experience with C/C++ preferred; FORTRAN and/or Ada are a plus.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as UNIX, Linux, and Concurrent OS/32 are a plus.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio 2015 and later, Team Foundation Server (Azure DevOps); Project Server also a plus.
- Understanding of algorithm development, software architecture, object-oriented design, and related concepts.
- Experience with source control, configuration management, and Lean/Agile software development a plus.
- Fluency in English, both in verbal and written communications.
- Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
- Able to work mathematical concepts such as exponents, vector analysis, matrix transformations, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Strong understanding or background in physics is a plus.
- Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions (and detect fallacies).
- Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Application knowledge in any of the following areas is a plus:
- Aircraft or helicopter pilot training or experience
- Real-time simulations systems
- Vital visual systems
- IR and EO Sensors and Systems
- Distributed Mission Operations (MAF/CAF standards)
- Datalink (civilian and military implementations)
- Electronic Warfare systems/simulations
