Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking an Engineer Systems as part of the IRBM/ICBM Targets Systems Engineering Integration & Test team within the Launch Vehicle business unit in our Chandler, AZ office.
The Engineer Systems will support the IRBM/ICBM Targets Program requiring the incumbent to function in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
The Engineer Systems will:
Possess strong technical problem solving, written and verbal communication skills to generate and document system level launch vehicle requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments and participate in system level verification/data review activities
Regularly interface with program management, engineering staff and external customers
Occasionally work during odd hours (nights/weekends) and occasionally longer than normal (>40 hrs/wk) to meet deadlines
Possess a strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously
Implement and manage system requirements in the Requirements Management databases (DOORS)
Provides data for and assists in risk management (identifies potential risks) and trade study processes
Supports system design, data analyses, interface verification, testing, and failure/anomaly resolution
Supports the testing and/or evaluation/validation of one or more components of a system or subsystem analytical model or actual system implementation
Prepares and presents materials at program major milestone meetings
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of experience.
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of related work experience
Ability to travel is required (<10)
Preferred Qualifications:
A strong experienced-based and academic foundation in Systems Engineering fundamentals is desired
Experience with Northrop Grumman Space Systems LVBU Systems Engineering standards/guidelines and expectations is desired
Experience with external customer interfacing (meetings, presentation, negotiation) is desired
System testing and launch operations experience is desired
Experience with Agile, Jira, and Scrum is desired
Salary Range: $75,300 - $112,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
