Mission:
To plan, schedule and perform a wide variety of procedures/inspections/experiments to understand the Investment Casting Process and ways to improve it. To work with Engineer and Operations to devise new methods and/or procedures and outline major projects. To create and maintain documentation used in the production of Investment Castings. To work with Engineering and Operations to audit and provide guidance to floor personnel.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Creating and updating tech cards, quality/process alerts, SOP’s/PCP (with input from Engineering), training modules, and other manufacturing work inductions and aids as needed.
2. Auditing the shop for process, safety, and quality compliance.
3. Learning to support other areas such as but not limited to: chem mill, etch line
4. Plans, schedules and completes small to medium sized projects to improve safety, quality and throughput. Determines procedures, schedules and manpower requirements. Coordinates activities with other plant resources.
5. Gathers, records, analyzes and summarizes data in various formats, prepares technical reports of results, evaluates projects, goals and processes.
6. Provides technical assistance and leadership to Technician’s I & II.
7. Actively engages with the floor and Engineering to identify and improve Process and documentation of processes.
8. Helps train and provided feedback to floor personnel on process issues and new process/procedures.
9. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. 4-5 years prior relevant experience OR A.S. or A.A. degree and 2-3 years of specific relevant technical experience OR B.S. degree with 1-2 years of specific relevant experience OR equivalent training and experience.
2. Considerable knowledge of and familiarity with the Investing Casting process and in particular the Heat Treatment processing, Chemical Milling or Casting steps.
3. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
4. Computer skills including use of Microsoft office. Must be comfortable learning new computer programs with minimal support.
5. Ability to create and maintain work instruction documents under general directions and to complete work independently.
6. Ability to plan, schedule, evaluate and coordinate designated projects.
