Position Summary
Supports troubleshooting both in the lab and the manufacturing floor. Sets up and conducts testing with prescribed testing requirements. Collaborates with engineers to identify testing methods, technical report writing, and summarize testing results. Responsible for keeping all lab equipment in working condition and ensuring calibration for equipment is current. Maintains a high-quality standard of work utilizing best practices within the engineering test lab and manufacturing floor.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document engineering tests, capturing relevant data as well as working with department resources on conclusions and findings.
- Assists in writing testing protocols and/or other technical documentation.
- Brainstorms testing methods and turns ideas into functional tests, independently and/or collaboratively.
- Maintains lab equipment, ensures all necessary equipment is calibrated, and follows 6S (Sort, set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety) best practices.
- Assists Process Engineer by supporting production floor troubleshooting with a focus on operator best practices, system procedures or testing, maintenance and calibration verification.
- Supports continuous improvement (including legacy product updates and Kaizens), new product development, verification/validation, and project related activities focused on manufacturing best practices.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Computer literacy, file storage and good documentation practices.
- Experience with configuration management and blueprint reading is desirable.
- Must be well organized and able to prioritize daily work.
- Ability to successfully interact with various departments in the accomplishment of the above responsibilities.
- Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently and open to re-direction.
- Able to work with limited guidance.
- Work towards a goal with an undefined path, independently and collaboratively.
- Quality Assurance or control or lab experience a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, some math skills necessary.
- Demonstration of good interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships is required.
- Willingness to work cross functionally with other departments.
- Testing systems and processing/quality equipment knowledge.
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge are a plus.
- Basic experience and knowledge of flow and pressure are highly desirable.
