To further this objective, we are seeking an Experience Design Advisor to join our team. Were looking for someone who is passionate about delivering human-centered solutions for real-world, large-scale problems that impact the lives of our customers and employees, ultimately resulting in sustaining Delta Air Lines’ spanet leadership and growth.The Experience Design Advisor is responsible for the direction and oversight of The Hangar’s design vision, strategy, and capabilities, as well as enterprise-wide education and advocacy on the value and importance of design. The following capabilities are desired:Lead design activities in cross-functional development teams to create industry leading travel experiences throughout the travel journey (at home, at the gate, in-flight, in-airport, etc.) including service recovery experiences and processesDesign and deliver digital and physical artifacts across a variety of environments.Leading design research to propose and deliver innovative solutions that continually improve products/services that put the “human first”Consult and collaborate with talented teams in a supportive, complex environment and develop an understanding of broader organizational context and goals.Providing guidance, oversight, and mentorship to junior designersWorking with the team to ensure exceptional design deliverables; set and exceed best practices and standards, measurable impacts, and design integrity in the final productMotivating the team to create designs that constantly push boundaries to keep Delta at the forefront of innovation and designUse storytelling and persuasion techniques that build trust with stakeholders and establish long-term relationships.Benchspaning airline, travel, and non-travel endemic experiences and best practices

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in a design-related field (e.g., Industrial design, architecture, etc.)10+ years previous experience in product or service design and/or innovationStrong knowledge of design standards, industry guidelines, and best practices with the ability to push beyond to uncover new and distinctive solutions.Advanced knowledge in design software such as Figma and Adobe Creative SuiteExperience in showcasing innovative and creative vision with a passion for human-centered design and strong customer orientationThe ability to understand spanet trends and translate them into actionable business strategiesStrong understanding of design and user research tools and techniquesStrong ability to give and accept critique, coaching, and feedback.Must possess an inquisitive and creative mind with a proven ability to influence and collaborate with others while driving resultsA strong track record of achieving challenging objectivesMust be independent and self-directed but able to work and influence a team of creative individualsMust be willing to take calculated risk and mange expectations Ability to execute across a wide range of products and tight deadlinesAbility to adapt to business challenges and rapidly pivot when necessary Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
