Our teams are currently hiring for an Experienced Electrical / Avionics Test & Evaluation Engineer located at Kennedy Space Center, FL.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide in-depth engineering technical direction and expertise in support of manufacturing, troubleshooting, repair, modification and acceptance testing of human rated flight hardware and ground support equipment.
- Prepare manufacturing and repair plans/procedures for issue resolution and implementation.
- Act as project task leader for complex assembly and repair tasks and handling operations.
- Responsible for parts and equipment selection / acquisition.
- Develops detailed test procedures, and instrumentation and configuration definition, needed to perform the test, minimizing risks within the constraints of the test plan.
- Applies lessons learned and documents standardized test methods and processes to ensure repeatability and productivity.
- Designs and develops/builds test hardware, fixtures, software, and systems to achieve test objectives.
- Develops data processing tools and algorithms.
- Generates calibration procedures and software.
- Oversees debriefing of the test team.
- Analyzes, processes and formats data to customer requirements.
- Reviews and approves test data, including off-nominal data, for quality and fidelity.
- Prepares and publishes test reports to document test results per customer requirements.
- Formulates expectations for test data based on historical data.
- Performs functions as required to ensure calibration system readiness and data validity.
- Trains others.
- Works under general direction.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and manufacturing planning.
- 3+ years of experience in complex test planning, development, and execution
- Experience with Avionics/Electrical Systems, Automated Test Equipment and/or environmental testing
- Experience with product life cycle electronic system tools such as Engineering Design Release Systems, 3D Modeling / Design (NX Software, 3D-CAD, Pro-E), and Manufacturing Execution System (MES).
- Experience/proficiency at reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematics and diagrams.
- Ability to develop and implement planning for critical repair, fabrication processes, procedures, test specifications and reports.
- Proficient at the operation and use of commercial test instrumentation equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal/logic/network/spectrum analyzers, function/video-signal generator, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide status and reports of the project to senior management and customer personnel.
- Have proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, and have the ability to work with a wide range of team members.
Typical Education & Experience:
Experienced (Level 3)
Bachelors degree and typically 5 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a Masters degree with typically 3 or more years experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
