Job Description:

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing various technical projects as directed by the Manager of Technical Services.  Provides technical assistance to customers, sales, production, and customer service departments.  The position also coordinates activities to evaluate and resolve technical concerns. 

The position requires 50% travel.


 

Job Requirements:

Position Duties:

  • Provide technical support to customers
  • Conduct various technical presentations
  • Discuss industry standards with various organizations such as Rubber Manufacturers' Association, Tire & Rim Association, and SAE International 
  • Support retread level escalation with customers
  • Investigate tire failures and customer concerns
  • Collect operations/field conditions and tire performance data
  • Perform statistical analysis on field and production data
  • Analyze rejection rates to identify shifts in product quality and changes in market conditions
  • Analyze operation and field condition data to anticipate and understand quality concerns
  • Determine key variables affecting tire performance
  • Monitor competitors through various media
  • Coordinate and follow in-service evaluations

Position Requirements:

  • B.S. in Engineering, with aviation experience
  • Ability to comprehend and apply statistics methods
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to effectively manage projects
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service skills; ability to professionally communicate with all levels of the organization and customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; expert level in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must be willing to travel 50% of the time domestic and internationally
