Amentum, a large government contract company, is seeking a Field Engineer/Security to provide situational Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) Watch stander and Systems Operator assigned to the Response and Management Division, located at the Coast Guard District Fourteen Headquarters in the PJKK Federal Building in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The Field Engineer/Security will be responsible for maintaining situational awareness of multiple operations and project and prioritize efforts as requirements change. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of MDA issues and provides real time informational products to Coast Guard assets as well as other duties as assigned by Program leadership.
Responsibilities
- Maintain awareness of all active operations and status of resources throughout the AOR. Track and monitor all actions in support of Maritime Homeland Security (MHS), Maritime Law Enforcement (MLE), Marine Safety (MS), Marine Environmental Protection (MEP), Aids to Navigation (ATON), and Defense Operations within the AOR.
- Identify and track international vessels of interest or suspicious activity. Monitor/track movements of international vessels of interest.
- Continuously monitor maritime activities to identify anomalies in the AOR.
- Liaison with any active Incident Command System (ICS) organizations that impact the maritime environment.
- Monitor C2OIX and HF/VHF radio communications and communicate via Chat and SIPRnet protocols.
- Provide direct support to aircraft utilizing Chat protocols and other systems for MINOTAUR equipped mission aircraft.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, MS Office software products, web-based applications, spatial data products and systems unique to Coast Guard applications including MISLE and Chat protocols.
- Capable of adjusting the normal work schedules as necessary to meet mission requirements not to exceed 80 hours per two week pay period. Normal work schedule will be determined by USCG and mission requirements.
- Deliver mission/situational awareness briefs to appropriate D14 Response Division staff elements.
- All watch standers and liaisons will have familiarity with each other’s work areas.
- Notify D14 (dt) of MDA systems operational status.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or USG Navy Operations Specialist (OS) “A” school completion AND 3+ years’ experience shipboard working with tactical publications, charts and course plotting, radar operation, detection, tracking and interpretation, air and surface status board keeping, radio-telephone coding, anti-warfare, plotting, vector analysis and tactical data systems

Secret security clearance is required. Applicants selected must be a US Citizen to apply for a Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Navy or Coast Guard Operations Specialist highly desired, E5 or above preferred.

Work Conditions
Conditions will vary. All work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. This classification’s activities range from, an office-like environment with extensive sitting demands to a flight line-like environment with extensive climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 30 pounds. Special vision abilities to perform this job are close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
HIRING SALARY: $80,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
