Graphics Designer

** Contract position based in Melbourne, FL **

POSITION SUMMARY

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares materials by utilizing graphic software to design and produce finished artwork or products.
• Plans content, graphic aspects, and the presentation of materials, products, or services.
• Create designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
• Draw and print charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork, using the computer.
• Confer with different areas of support to develop and assist on the development of campaigns and designs to fit their needs.
• Brainstorm and mock up design ideas.
• Creation of ideas and concepts for campaigns.
• Develop graphics and layouts for product illustrations
• Organize presentations for internal and external customers in support of Sales and Design.
• Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients and/or supervisors and making necessary changes.
• Photograph layouts, using camera, to make layout prints.
  
• Interface with external suppliers for departmental printing needs, equipment upgrades, to clarify technical issues or to obtain needed information.
• Ensuring guidelines for logos, fonts, and design layout are followed to meet corporate identity.
  

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Education:

• High School diploma; preferable BA degree in Communications or related field.
• Technical graphic school preferred.

Experience:

• Generally, at least 5-7 years of experience in area of Graphics preparing professional presentations and design projects using different software and graphic resources.
• Mac graphics software.
• Advanced Technician Role, requiring Advanced Skills to perform all standard tasks within the Technical Area assigned to, with concentration in Adobe Illustrator, Powerpoint and Indesign.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Assignments require Comprehensive Knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within their Technical Area.
• Skills are broadly applied in multiple Technical Areas.
• Excellent PowerPoint, Desktop Publishing, Graphics, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop
• Able to pick up and learn different software applications.
• Working Conditions / Environment/ Special Requirements
• Able to work overtime for special projects.
