What You Will Do
Hot Section Engineering (HSE) is seeking a dynamic Principal Structures Engineer (P4) to join the team. As a team member, you will perform stateof-the-art finite element analysis for stress, vibration, determination of low and high cycle fatigue life, and residual life (fracture mechanics) predictions. Additionally, as Principal Structures Engineers will mentor and assist on the technical development of teammates and will be asked to lead small structures teams on tasks. You will be an active member in cross-discipline integrated product teams, often as the structures lead, to provide advanced structural design solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and quality requirements. Candidates must demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude to understand the interactions of complex assemblies and how to translate those interactions into sound analytical assumptions. Additionally, you will be asked to participate in initiatives for continuous improvement. Overall, this position will provide opportunities to apply your engineering acumen, creativity, and bring leadership skills to bear in different phases of the design process. The Principal Structures Engineer position offers growth opportunities to become a future leader by giving visibility throughout the leadership chain, from CIPT (Component Integrated Product Team), to PCE (Program Chief Engineer), P&W executives, and external customers. Thus, it requires candidates be able to create and provide impactful, persuasive technical presentations and clear substantiation documentation.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
8 years of structural engineering experience, or an Advanced degree in Engineering with 5 years of structural engineering experience.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Active US Government Security Clearance.
Experience with ANSYS Mechanical / Workbench, ABAQUS, Siemens NX, MATLAB, Python, Nastran, and MS Office.
Experience in structural finite element methods and programs, also structural analysis experience.
Experience with testing, design, and analysis of composite materials.
Experience working in the Aerospace Industry, especially gas turbine experience
