ELECTRONIC HARDWARE ENGINEER (Through Life)
Location – Rochester, Kent
Pay rate – Negotiable hourly rate on offer (Inside IR35)
Duration – 12 months
As a Hardware Engineer you will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to formulate and optimize innovative hardware engineering solutions, for products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and other associated safety-critical technology.
Your main responsibilities will involve:
- Executing hardware design tasks in accordance with the hardware development plan, whilst
- meeting agreed timescales and allocated budgets
- Conducting hardware requirements capture, preliminary design, detailed design including a
- range of analysis tasks
- Delivering design artefacts in accordance with company and industry standards
- Working with other disciplines within an integrated team
- Writing Test Requirements
Your skills and qualifications:
- Working knowledge and understanding of digital &/or analogue electronics technologies; design tools and techniques, electronic circuits design, schematic capture, design analysis, design documentation, commissioning and integration
- Able to work in small or large teams through the engineering development lifecycle with regular supervision/guidance
- Awareness of component obsolescence management
- Awareness of cost and schedule management
Working knowledge of the following tools would be advantageous:
- Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise
- Analogue simulations tools, e.g. Simetrix or Spice
- Timing designer tools, e.g. Chronology
- Signal integrity tools
- System development tools, e.g. Enterprise Architect, Matlab, Simulink
- Requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS
- Knowledge of National instruments Labview and Teststand
