Hardware Systems Engineer

Location:            Broad Oak or New Malden

Duration:           12 months

Rate:                 Negotiable hourly rate on offer (inside IR35)

The team exists to provide hardware development services across a variety of projects. The role will cover a number of facets including development of Shared Infrastructure (SI) Systems, testing and issue resolution across a number of naval platforms.

What you’ll be doing:

• Generation of design, test and installation documentation
• Investigation and resolution of design issues
• Design and build of electrical and hardware systems to achieve successful acceptance
• Understanding of Configuration Control and baselines
• Use of Visio for Hardware design
• Successful installation and setting to work of hardware on ship
• Design proving, to include various environmental aspects

Proven Ability / Key Skills

Essential

• Proven ability in a hardware domain.
• Knowledge of the full lifecycle.
• Knowledge and proven ability of equipment development using COTS hardware.
• Ability to author and understand technical and design documentation.

Desirable

• Ability to operate in a large, complex multi-project environment.
• Proven ability with COTS cabinets, cabinet design, wiring schedules, power distribution.
• Familiarity with blade, PC and networking technologies.

Additional

• Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the project involved all applicants must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level.
• Hybrid working available, will need to be on site when carrying out testing activities, documentation etc. can be done remotely.
