The Work

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Hardware Design / System Engineer to join our Mission Systems team. In this role, you will play a key part in the development of Advanced Processing systems and subsystems, supporting all aspects of hardware development from requirements derivation through product integration. You’ll ensure the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work. You will utilize Digital Transformation practices, including model-based engineering and Agile development, to define product capabilities and drive innovation.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting product development activities, including requirements derivation through product integration support.
• Supporting overall organizational process compliance, including the Systems Engineering and Hardware Development Process Implementation.
• Ensuring the technical integrity and completeness of deliverables, and ensuring cost and schedule commitments are met
• Leveraging Digital Transformation tools to enhance development processes.

This position is based out of Owego, NY.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD government security clearance at Secret level.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Engineering Physics, a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree.
• Experience with hardware design including requirements derivation through product integration support. Knowledge of the full product development lifecycle.
• Experience with collaborating with other engineering disciplines and program personnel and participation in cross functional product development.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance to at least the Secret level.
Desired Skills:
• DOD customer experience
• Experience with designing / developing / integrating advanced processing systems
• Experience with DO-254 and/or DO-178 design certification
• Drive execution through a Digital Engineering environment, leveraging Model-Based System Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile approaches
• Experience with DO-254 and/or DO-178 design certification
• Experience with DOORS and NextGen DOORS

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $82,200 - $157,500. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $94,500 - $178,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
