In this technical area, developing automated Configuration Tools for next-generation IMA computers is a strategic enabler for developping MBSE in avionics platform system engineering and being 2025-lauch-ready for game-changing improvements in end-to-end efficiency for avionics systems of the next Airbus Commercial aircraft programme.

Your working environment:

  • The definition of the interface between a Simulink designed / generated aircraft system software application and the target avionics computer e.g. how the scheduling, interfaces and API of the IMA computer should be represented within the model and “linked” to the generated code. This will require an understanding of the API and services defined by the standard ARINC 653.

  • Analyse, assess and benchmark existing (SDK) developed by IMA platform external suppliers which you may be provided for use-case assessment in the frame of a collaborative reseach & technology (R&T) project

  • Developing scripts and software tools (as Proof of Concepts) to modify, configure and “wrap” code generated by Simulink to create software applications which can be compiled and executed on target IMA computers with no manual coding.

  • Developing Simulink model to code Proof of Concepts to demonstrate the Model Based Design integration of aircraft system application models with several / most / all of the API services provided by an IMA computer e.g. services to acquire all of the different interfaces provided, non volatile RAM use, application layer services used to support Maintenance.

  • Developing Simulink model to code Proof of Concepts to demonstrate how qualification requirements can be met.

  • Defining, documenting and validating through 1 or several of the Proof of Concept exercises the industrial process to use this SDK, in relation with internal Airbus customers of this SDK.

  • Planning, execution and achievement of DO178 qualification and certification of the new methods and tools (SDK)

  • Overall consistency of the methods and software tools (SDK) you develop with the overall MBSE roadmap for IMA and, more generally, for Airbus Systems, in connection DDMS and ISPOT R&T project team.
