Position Summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic R&D Engineering Lab Intern to join our innovative Research and Development team. This internship offers hands-on experience in supporting the development, testing, and validation of new products and technologies. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and gain valuable exposure to lab equipment, testing methodologies, and real-world problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up and executing lab tests to support the validation of new and existing products, including cartridges, industrial valves, and mobile valves.
- Help maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Collect and analyze test data, assisting in the preparation of reports summarizing findings.
- Maintain organized and detailed records of all testing activities.
- Support inspections using metrological equipment.
- Assist in specifying parts and materials needed for test setups.
- Collaborate with team members and engineers to troubleshoot issues and improve test processes.
- Perform other tasks and assignments as needed to support R&D projects.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Strong interest in engineering, with a focus on R&D or mechanical/electrical systems.
- Basic understanding of lab equipment and testing methodologies (prior lab experience is a plus).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics (hydraulic and electrical).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) for effective collaboration with engineers and other team members.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and apply new techniques.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with CAD software.
- Experience with basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of programming tools (PLC, LabVIEW, Python) is a plus.
- Experience with data acquisition systems and software is a bonus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and handle lab equipment and materials as required.
- Comfortable working in a lab setting with potential exposure to hydraulic fluids and machinery noise.
- Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Education Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a 4-year technical degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous hands-on experience in testing electrohydraulic valves or related systems is a plus but not required.
