Job Description SummaryThe KUH2 Tail Gearbox (TGB), Intermediate Gearbox (IGB) System Engineer serves as primary technical leader for the assigned gearbox modules (TGB/IGB Modules) in the frame of KUH2 Helicopter Rotor Drive System NPI Program, from Preliminary Design to Certification. He/she leads system design and development efforts of TGB/IGB Modules driving significant technical issues to resolution and being one of the main technical interface towards Customers for its modules. In this role, he/she will also support development of a dedicated Power Rigs for validation/qualification and lead and coordinate budget of assigned modules. He/she will report to the KUH-2 Systems Engineering Leader.
KUH-2 NPI program is aimed to develop and certify a new Rotor Drive System to upgrade a Heavy Helicopter of Korean Aerospace Industries. The Rotor Drive System NPI program includes design, development, certification of the complete system which includes Main Gearbox (MGB), Tail Gearbox (TGB), Intermediate Gearbox (IGB), Tail Rotor Drive System (TRDS), Engine-MGB Link System (ISS), Main Rotor Mast (MRM), and development of a new Power Rig. The MGB Module includes a fully dedicated Cooling sub-system, the Indicating and Sensing sub-systems, two AGB LH/RH sub-modules and a Two Stage Epicyclic sub-module).

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Execute strategy and drive key deliverables and milestones to meet the development objectives of the KUH-2 TGB/IGB Modules;

  • Ensure fulfillment of KUH-2 TGB/IGB Modules Engineering milestones on time, on cost, on quality;

  • Ensure fulfillment of Customer Technical Requirements and contractual Statement of Work TGB/IGB Modules wise;

  • Develops and maintains trusted relationships with Customer through on-going dialogue and effective technical communication. Collaborates with Customer, Regulatory Agencies, and partners to establish the best technical solutions.

  • Drive and Coordinate Development Prototypes Build and relevant Test Activities or TGB/IGB Modules;

  • Partner with other Company Functions involved in KUH-2 Development and Certification by providing technical documentation in accordance to Company Policies and Procedures and consulting service;

  • Monitor and report to Senior Leadership about project status and significant business and technical issues;

  • Ensure a rigorous process is followed in the execution of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action of product and process issues;

  • Provide leadership for unyielding compliance and integrity;

  • Manage TGB/IGB Modules engineering program risks;

  • Lead and coordinate the project team providing technical leadership, teaching, consulting, mentoring involved design and validation Resources.

  • Focus on protection of Intellectual Property (IP).

  • Support technical and program reviews.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Master Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited university

  • Experience in Product Development of complex products and/or gearbox systems New Product Introduction process and flow of activities within the organization

  • Significant experience in systems engineering and NPI project management

  • Knowledge of gearbox technical requirements, design solutions and technologies

  • Clear thinking and diligent approach

  • English and Italian language knowledge, both written and oral

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Work Visa, according to local regulation , is requided
