Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Lab Electronics Engineer/ Principal Lab Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.

Essential functions: 

  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians in a lab environment

  • Advise on integration of new emerging industry technologies to the program’s systems

  • Implement engineering changes to the system as required

  • Review, analyze, and incorporate technical requirements into end-to-end system architectures

  • Responsible for completing the network configurations and coordinating with team

  • Ability to work and support a flexible schedule (2nd shift, possibly weekends) as required

Basic Qualifications for Electronics Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline (STEM) with 2 years of relevant experience; OR 0 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) (STEM) degree.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Electronics Engineer:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline (STEM) with 5 years of relevant experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) (STEM) degree OR 0 years of experience with STEM PhD degree.

Basic Qualifications for both Lab Electronics Engineer/ Principal Lab Electronics Engineer:

  • Experience with integrating systems in a Hardware/Software lab

  • Technical knowledge of Red Hat and/or other Linux operating systems.

  • Experience isolating and resolving avionics failures and/or Avionics integration experience

  • Scripting/Programming experience (e.g. Bash/Shell, Ansible, Python, etc.)

  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR). This SAP/PAR must be obtained prior to commencement of employment and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading and managing internal programs and working with engineers to delegate tasking/efforts

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and provide milestone progress on critical items or scheduled items

  • Ability to mentor and help grow junior engineers and share knowledge and experience to improve procedures, processes and bring recommendations for technological improvements

  • Basic to advance knowledge of networking and network systems

  • Experience in design, implementation, and sustainment of Linux/Unix systems

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, RH-V)

  • Current Special Program Access (SAP/PAR)

Salary Range: $87,200 - $130,800
Salary Range 2: $107,300 - $160,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
