Primary Responsibilities:

The Lead Application Developer Analyst typically leads and coordinates highly complex or enterprise critical projects that require extensive expertise and knowledge within a specific area of responsibility. Interacts with internal stakeholders and team members. Responsible for specific information systems within IT application portfolio.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Research, test, develop and may implement IT solutions that advance automation and innovation of business or IT processes.
  • Accountable and may perform the installation, functional and performance testing, maintenance and modification of vendor supplied software.
  • Leads planning sessions with customers to improve business processes and prioritize investments in process, people, services, and infrastructure. Publishes roadmaps over assigned technical area of responsibility.
  • Accountable for the development of guidelines and standards to be utilized in software development/integration including developing and leading implementation plans for integration testing.
  • Interfaces with testing teams to incorporate plans into integration testing process.
  • Accountable for the teams adherence to quality standards and procedures, reviews modules for quality assurance, ensures compliance with application architecture standards.
  • Lead the team to develop, communicate, and drive a technical vision that is easily understood by all levels of management.
  • Leads buy verses build recommendations, including advising on system options, risks, return on investment (ROI) and impact to business processes for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Makes recommendations on work priorities that lay outside projects or customer council deliverables.
  • May serve on or lead the Technical Review Board to assure all systems are in line with the long-term IT strategy.
  • Influences enterprise information systems opportunities that align with corporate strategy and performance. Ability to create and present a polished executable plan with risk factors identified.
  • Maintains technical currency through training and studies, and proactively leads the implementation of innovative solutions.
  • Evaluates existing applications to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements. Accountable for the evaluation and selection process for application packages.
  • Serve as the technical lead on very large, complex IT projects.
  • Provides technical leadership in areas of responsibility, identifies and implements the latest technologies for improvements to software and organizational effectiveness.
  • Provides technical guidance, leadership and coaching to team members, to include sharing business acumen. Proven ability to mentor peers and identify/develop training plans and strategies to maintain technical currency.

 

You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 7+ years of programming/systems analysis experience.
  • US citizenship in order to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy "Q" level security clearance.

    to: Architecture, design process, supplier process, manufacturing process, and 
    appropriate contacts/SME.
