Lead Engineer - Flight Physics Capabilities

Job Description:

Translate capability needs of Flight Physics into method and tool specifications.

Design, develop, and validate Flight Physics methods and tools.

Drive applications of M&T and define best practices to be used by Flight Physics business teams (ie., Aerodynamics, Aircraft Performance, Loads, Aeroelastics and Weights).

Ensure methods development for all Flight Physics Modelling such as Performance modelling, Loads&39; modelling, Weight control process, Computational Simulation techniques (CFD, CFD-CSM coupling, aerothermal analysis, aeroacoustics, icing, optimization methods, Identification methods...) etc.

Ensure multidisciplinary integration of Flight Physics capabilities and ensure that solutions meet technical and user requirements.

Ensure operational services & support to Flight Physics teams.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead software architecture definition and capability development for the Flight Physics domain

• Analyze the business context, design and  document the solution, present that solution to stakeholders and support the project team with its implementation.

• Ensure strategic alignment of software development activities in terms of process management, methodology, rules and tools (tool chain).

• Conduct feasibility studies in complex, heterogeneous project environments

• Coach the junior team members in their projects.

Your boarding pass:

• Degree or experience in Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil Engineering or equivalent and with strong experience in software development

• Analytical mindset, enjoys challenges, and open to learn new technologies

• Experience in Modelling and Simulation, and familiarity with requirements specifications

• Professional experience leading engineering software development

• Experience in software architecture development and application design

• Previous experience with a variety of languages, such as C&43;&43;, Python, Java (eclipse RCP), FORTRAN, Javascript, etc.

• SAFe, Agile ways of working 

• Ability to learn fast, comfortable working in full autonomy

• Fluent in English
