MANUFACTURING ENGINEER (DRAGON COMPOSITES)

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Utilize production optimization tools (swim lane charts, utilization and efficiency metrics, workflow balancing) in order to remove waste from the processes and achieve quality and rate targets

  • Cross-functional coordination between engineering and production disciplines to refine build and test sequences at various assembly levels

  • Develop strategies to remove hold factors when non-conformances or drawing discrepancies halt production

  • Perform root cause investigation and implement corrective actions to eliminate non-conformances and improve manufacturing process repeatability

  • Support process development and validation efforts for engineering change, and integrate solutions into the production flow

  • Influence RE/ME teams with regard to design for manufacturing and incorporate lessons learned to simplify production processes


Job Requirements:
achelor of Science degree in mechanical, materials, aerospace or chemical engineering
  • 1+ year of experience in an automotive, aviation or spacecraft manufacturing environment

  • 1+ years of experience in a composites manufacturing role


  • PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:


    • Master of Science degree in mechanical, materials, or aerospace engineering

    • Experience with advanced composites manufacturing processes (out-of-autoclave prepreg processing, drilling and routing of composites, structural adhesives) for large scale, primary structures in a high-volume manufacturing environment

    • Working proficiency with PFMEA and 5-Why methodology and implementation

    • Familiarity with test procedures and non-destructive evaluation of structural composites

    • Experience taking products from development cycle to full volume production

    • Experience working with Siemens NX CAD suite


    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


    • Must be willing to work long hours and weekends when necessary
